My iPad Shut Off While Playing Roblox—What Should I Do?

My daughter was playing Roblox on her 9th Gen iPad when it suddenly shut off, even though the battery was at 80%. Now it won't turn back on at all. I've plugged it in, but nothing shows up on the screen like it normally does when charging. I've tried holding down the power and home buttons, and also the volume up/down with the power button, but none of that worked. Any suggestions on what I can do?

This happened to my iPad not long ago! It turned off with plenty of battery left and wouldn’t turn back on. I took it to the Apple store, and they told me it had a logic board failure, which meant I needed a replacement. Fortunately, mine was still under warranty, so I didn't have to pay anything.

Oh no, that sounds bad! I don’t think mine is under warranty! I looked it up and it sounds like that could be the issue.

You could also try giving Apple a call and see what they suggest. They might have some options for you.

I manage a bunch of 9th Gen iPads for my client's retail system, and we’ve had at least two dozen of them do the same thing recently. Most of them needed to be replaced. You could try connecting it to iTunes on a PC to see if it picks it up and allows you to restore it, but the chances aren’t great.

You might want to check for water damage, especially if it’s been near any spills. Honestly, the best bet is probably to take it to a repair shop since they’ll have the tools to diagnose it properly.

I could do that! I don’t think there’s an Apple store close by, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have any warranty.
