Hey everyone! I'm working on my first PC build, but I'm running into some problems that I could really use some help with. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, MSI Pro B550M-VC WiFi Micro ATX motherboard, Intel Arc B580 GPU, Timetec PINNACLE konduit 32 GB RAM, and a SAMA GT 650W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX power supply. I bought the CPU second-hand from a seller who said they tested it and even offered a refund, so I don't think I got scammed. The issue is that when I first powered it on, I noticed one of the CPU power connectors wasn't fully seated, which makes me worry that I might have damaged either the CPU or motherboard. I've tried reseating the CPU and RAM, and I've cleared the CMOS, but nothing seems to work. The CPU debug light comes on right after I press the power button. Before I go ahead and accept the refund, I'd love to get some suggestions for debugging steps I can take. Thanks!

Have you tried booting the system without the CPU? Sometimes, you can get a message on the screen like 'CPU not detected' if the motherboard itself is working properly.
Have you checked all the CPU pins to see if any are bent or broken? If they're all fine, it might be best to just go ahead and process the refund and get a new CPU. Better safe than sorry!
I checked, and they look fine to me. I just don’t want to return it only to find out the CPU is actually okay, and I don't want to hinder a new one from working too.
Is your motherboard used or new? Make sure it has the correct BIOS version for your CPU. Also, it’s a bit tedious, but start by reseating all components - the CPU, all power connectors, and RAM to rule out any loose connections.
The only used part I have is the CPU. I think the motherboard has the right BIOS, but I’ll definitely go through reseating everything. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the suggestion! I tried it, but unfortunately, there was no video output, and that CPU debug light was still on.
