Advice Needed for Budget PC Build for My Son

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some guidance on building a budget-friendly PC for my son. He's been eagerly waiting to play Microsoft Flight Simulator, and I finally managed to put together a PC for him. Unfortunately, it turns out the hardware is outdated and can't run the game. Currently, we have an i5 2500k and an RX 580. I really want to surprise him with a working setup without breaking the bank. If anyone has suggestions for upgrades or a new build that's affordable, I would greatly appreciate it! Just to note, I'm hoping to keep costs lower since I've already spent quite a bit.

I feel for you! With the current specs, it’s going to be challenging to run Microsoft Flight Simulator. Honestly, spending around $200-300 for a new PC isn’t practical for that game. Instead, consider getting an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription; it allows for playing via cloud gaming. It'll let your son enjoy the game without needing a super-fast PC. Plus, all you need is a decent internet connection!

Those specs are definitely outdated, and Flight Simulator is really resource-heavy. If you're aiming for a budget of around $600, that could work! You might want to plan to reuse the PSU and case from your current setup. It would help save some money. That said, make sure to check the compatibility of any new components you get!

Thanks for the tips! I can reuse the PSU and case, which should help a lot.
