Hey everyone! I need some help deciding on my next GPU upgrade. I'm looking at three options: the 6950XT, 7800XT, and 9060XT. I'm also planning to upgrade my CPU to an i5 14600k. Currently, I'm running an i3 12100f with an RX6600. I'm not really concerned about ray tracing or upscaling, but I've heard good things about AMD's RDNA 4 and FSR4 technology. For pricing, the 6950XT costs around 450 EUR, the 7800XT is about 500 EUR, and the 9060XT falls in the 350-400 EUR range. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The 6950XT is actually faster than the 7800XT, offering better overall performance and price-to-performance ratio. Just keep in mind that it consumes a lot more power, so it might hit you harder on the electricity bill!

Honestly, I’d pick the 7800XT. It performs similarly to the 6950XT and competes well with the 4070 Super and 5070. The 9060XT is more on par with the 5060 Ti, which isn’t quite as good for the investment. The 6950XT is still a beast, but be wary of its power draw. If you're checking around, see if you can find any good deals on those other cards too!

Yeah, those newer NVIDIA cards are priced crazy high. The 4070 Super and 5070 are both around 600 EUR. But for 450 EUR, a 6950XT is a solid deal. I’ve seen some 3080TIs for about the same price, but they tend to be pricier overall.

If you're looking for the best balance, I would recommend the 7800XT. It's powerful enough to handle light ray tracing at 1080p and 1440p, especially if you're willing to tweak some settings. Just make sure your motherboard can provide enough power for the i5 14600k, or else you might run into some limitations.

Thanks for the insight! I’ve been digging for up-to-date benchmarks, but they seem really outdated. I found a 7900XTX for 600 EUR; do you think it’s worth the extra cash?

I agree with you! I've been using the sapphire nitro 7800XT for over a year, and it's been fantastic. Great value for what you get!
