I'm building my first PC and I'm considering whether I need an AIO cooler for the 9800X3D or if I can just use a standard fan air cooler. I'm not very familiar with AIOs, so I'd love to hear what others think about this!

Air cooling works perfectly fine for the 9800X3D. You don't necessarily need an AIO unless you're looking for something more advanced.
Absolutely, a good air cooler is more than sufficient. AIOs might provide better performance, but for most users, air cooling does the job just fine.
Honestly, AIOs aren't that hard to put in; I found them easier than towers because you have more space to work. Still, air cooling works great for this CPU!
I've been using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 on my 9800X3D, and it keeps things nice and cool even during intense gaming sessions. AIOs can be better, but honestly, they're not worth the extra cost unless you want that extra cooling power.
Yeah, plus air coolers are usually easier to install.
Any decent tower cooler will do the trick! Just make sure it's compatible with your setup, and you'll be all set.
That's good to know! I'll definitely consider that cooler.
