I recently updated the BIOS on my Dell Inspiron 5310 to version 2.34.1, and now my laptop heats up really quickly and the fan is super loud. To make matters worse, I'm unable to downgrade the BIOS back to the previous version. What should I do to fix this? I'm looking for any advice or solutions!

Oh man, the Inspiron 5310 is pretty notorious for running hot! I’d recommend taking the back off and cleaning out any dust—it's amazing how much that helps. And if you're comfortable with it, applying new thermal paste can make a big difference too. Just be careful if you go that route!

Sounds like you're not alone with that model—lots of overheating complaints! One suggestion is to redo the thermal paste; the cooling design on these laptops isn't the best. It might help manage the heat better. Also, check your power settings in both the BIOS and Windows to see if you can make it run cooler. Hang in there!

Yeah, it's pretty much a design flaw. I can tell you from experience that the 5310 can feel more like a space heater than a laptop, especially if you're trying to use it for anything demanding. If you can’t downgrade the BIOS, maybe consider adjusting some settings or getting a cooling pad to help with the heat.
