I'm mostly using my PC for gaming and I have a second drive where I can install Windows if necessary. I mainly play games that work on Linux, but I've heard Pop!_OS has great Nvidia driver support. Is that true, or is there something I'm missing?

While I think Pop!_OS is decent, it's a bit outdated at the moment since the team is focusing on developing the Cosmic Desktop Environment. I run it myself, but I wouldn't recommend starting with it right now. You might want to look into alternatives like Nobara or Bazzite for a more modern experience.

Definitely, Pop!_OS is a solid choice! It really simplifies the installation process by including the Nvidia drivers straight out of the box. I've been using it with my RTX 3060, and almost everything just works right away. It's great for gaming, though you'll need tools like Lutris to help run some games through Wine, but there are plenty of guides available if you hit any snags. Just a heads up, I had a bit of trouble with Ghost of Tsushima, but everything else has been smooth sailing!

Some say Pop!_OS is fine for gaming, but currently, it's not the best option because of its older software stack. I've heard Bazzite is the way to go as it's modern, includes everything you need right away, and is designed to avoid breaking easily. If you're after reliability and performance while gaming, Bazzite could be your best bet!

Honestly, if gaming is your main use case, maybe check out Bazzite or Nobara instead. They seem to cater more to gamers and offer up-to-date drivers and a smoother experience overall. Pop!_OS is okay, but I think there are better options out there right now.

I really like Pop!_OS. It’s user-friendly and boots up super fast. The UI is neat with workspaces and window tiling, and it works pretty well for gaming too, even though gaming isn’t its primary focus. If you want something that's easy to install and manage, this one's great! Just remember to keep backups.
