I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from a 3060 to an RTX 5080 and also considering switching from my G5 Odyssey monitor to a Xiaomi Smart TV FX PRO QLED Series 55. The reason for the TV upgrade is that I enjoy watching movies on a larger screen, and I have some vision issues that make it hard to see smaller objects. I've got the budget for either a monitor or a TV. My main concern is whether the RTX 5080 will handle gaming at 4K 60fps (with DLSS enabled) on the 55" TV without any frame rate issues. I often play open-world RPGs and adventure games like Wuwa, Death Stranding, Monster Hunter, and Far Cry.

You shouldn't have any issues with the RTX 5080! My 5070 Ti runs everything smoothly at 4K, and the 5080 will perform even better, likely offering an extra 5-10% boost which is worth it. Just make sure you're okay with the extra cost!
I had a 1080 Ti and it ran 4K at 60fps really well on my 55" TV. The key is knowing what settings you need to tweak. Focus on texture quality and rendering distance; those really enhance the visuals, while you can dial down some other things like shadows or lighting without hurting the experience too much. You'll be able to keep a lot of settings on high with the 5080 or 4070 Ti, so you should be in great shape!
Honestly, I don't think the RTX 5080 is worth the upgrade from the 5070 Ti at that price point. I've seen the prices starting to drop, and Newegg has the 5070 Ti for around $790 right now. It might be a better bang for your buck!
What are the usual prices for the 5070 Ti and 5080?
Came here to say this! Especially with the prices changing.
