I've been struggling with my PC's Ethernet connection for about 10 hours now, and I'm at my wit's end. My Ethernet just randomly stopped functioning. I checked all the ports, and they seem fine; there are green and flashing orange lights on my PC. The Ethernet port in the wall works perfectly with my TV, so that's not the issue. I attempted to download new drivers, but that didn't help. I've tried the configuration and DNS flush commands without success. I even uninstalled the Ethernet drivers and restarted my PC, but still nothing changed. I've watched multiple YouTube tutorials on fixing it, but nothing has worked so far. I'm seriously considering buying a PCIe Ethernet adapter online at this rate since I've been up since 3 AM trying to sort this out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mine stopped working out of nowhere too after I plugged in a new device. Sometimes static electricity can mess things up. If all else fails, I recommend investing in a good Ethernet USB-C adapter; they work reliably without much hassle!
If you're able to ping 127.0.0.1 and get replies, it looks like your network stack is functioning on some level. Since your Ethernet still isn’t connecting, it could be a hardware issue with the card itself. It might be time to look for a new Ethernet card if you've already tried everything else. They’re not too expensive and could solve your issue!
Are you sure your Internet is down and not just the Ethernet? Check if your computer shows it’s connected to the network. And just a thought—how are you downloading drivers without Ethernet? I’m a bit confused there!
Right? I’m scratching my head too. You might want to clarify that part!
I had a similar issue where the Ethernet showed as connected but said it was on an unidentified network. It might just need a driver refresh.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers through Device Manager? That's often a good start. Restart your router, too, and don’t forget to run a winsock reset to refresh everything.
I just ran that ping test too and got replies, but my Ethernet is still down. Weird, right? Guess it's time to investigate the card!
