I just got an iPad for my son, but I'm having a tough time activating it. It won't connect to our home Wi-Fi, but it seemed to accept a public Wi-Fi network initially. However, I keep getting an activation server error message. I'm stuck and can't even check the model of the iPad. Any suggestions to help me complete the activation process?

It sounds like the public Wi-Fi you’re trying to connect to might not be allowing access to the internet without going through a login page or agreeing to terms first. Since you can't finish the activation, I recommend trying a different personal Wi-Fi network or visiting a friend who has a more reliable internet connection.
The Wi-Fi I was on just says "xfinity" and did not ask for a password, so I thought it was fine. I don’t really have friends or family nearby to help me out. Any other ideas?
