Hey everyone! I was trying to locate my save file for Darkest Dungeon 2, which should be in C:UsersHOMEAppDataLocalLowRedHookDarkestDungeon IISaveFiles. However, I couldn't find the AppData folder in File Explorer, even though CMD confirmed it exists. I thought it might be a hidden folder, so I tried to unhide it by going into Properties and selecting 'show hidden'. But then, unexpectedly, all the icons on my screen disappeared, and it seems like the USERS folder is now missing from the Local Disk. It's not in the Recycle Bin either. I've rebooted my PC and looked for backups, but there are none. I even tried using Recuva, but it only recovered a few random files. The strange part is that my apps like Google Chrome still work, and when my sister tried to install Firefox, it said it was already installed but wouldn't open. I really need to recover everything that was in my User folder, including documents, photos, and PDFs. What can I do?

It sounds like you might have accidentally set the Users folder to hidden. Try this: in File Explorer, click on 'View' at the top, then select 'Show' and make sure 'Hidden items' is checked. This might help you see the folder again!
Your screenshot doesn’t show other typical hidden folders, like ProgramData. It seems like you might not have enabled showing hidden files properly. Go to View > Options > View tab, and select 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives'. You might have just hidden the Users folder by mistake, and it’s not actually gone!
I had that issue once. After tweaking the settings as suggested, everything showed back up! Make sure you follow the steps and let us know if it works!
I didn't realize I could set it to hidden like that! After checking 'Hidden items' again, the Users folder reappeared for me. Give it a try!
