Should I Upgrade My CPU or Switch to AM5?

Hey everyone! I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 5600X (AM4) paired with a B450 motherboard and 64GB of DDR4 RAM. I feel like my CPU is the weakest link in my setup, especially with my RTX 3070 Ti. I'm torn between upgrading to a more powerful AM4 CPU, like a 5950X, or just making a big leap to an AM5 setup with DDR5 RAM. I really don't want to ditch my 64GB of RAM, but I'm also aware that upgrading to a 5950X could only be a temporary fix. What would you guys recommend? Thanks for your input!

I suggest going for a 5700X3D or an 5800X3D and keeping your current RAM. Switching to a full AM5 system would cost you between $500 to $800, which is quite a hit if you can hold off for a while!

What games are you playing and at what settings? Your 5600X actually performs well with the 3070 Ti for most gaming scenarios. A 5950X does have more cores, but for gaming, the difference may not be significant since the cores perform similarly to your current CPU, especially for most games.

I mentioned the 5950X as just an option, I'll definitely research what makes the most sense later. The real challenge for my system is running Flight Simulator.
