Viewing Two Active Directory Forests in One Console

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble with setting up a console where a user can view their old and new domains simultaneously. While it's straightforward to switch domains, the issue arises when the user saves and closes the console. It seems to only show their new domain when reopening it. I'm not sure why it won't retain the old domain view. I know they could just right-click and change the domain, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm overlooking here. Thanks for any help!

It looks like you're dealing with some saved view quirks. When you reopen the console and only see the new domain, it might just be that the saved .mmc view is duplicating the entry. A quick fix is to create a new console with the domains set again instead of relying on the saved view. Give it a try, and it should work!

I noticed the same thing! Creating a new one with the right configurations fixed my issue too. Just make sure to save it properly!

Are you following these steps to add ADUC snap-ins?
1. Open mmc.exe
2. Add Active Directory Users and Computers multiple times: File > Add/Remove Snap-in.
3. For each one, click 'Another computer' and specify a different domain.
That way, you should have independent views in one console window. Just don’t forget to save the console!

Thanks for the guide! I had followed those steps, but it somehow reset. I’ll have the user try again and see if it sticks this time!
