I'm excited about the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact case because it fits perfectly in my space, and I prefer it over the glass panel options that are so common these days. However, I'm concerned about its size and cooling capabilities. I want to know how powerful of a setup I can go for without switching to liquid cooling. For instance, would it be possible to fit a high-end RTX 5080 along with a suitable CPU, or is that pushing the limits of this air cooling build? Thanks for any advice!

You should be fine as long as your airflow isn’t restricted, meaning you need good intake and exhaust to keep the hot air moving. Just keep an eye on how long your GPU is, especially with front fans installed. A bigger case would help with thermal management, but at the end of the day, it’s all about effectively removing the hot air from the case. It might get noisy, but it shouldn’t be a total disaster for cooling.
Check out the specs for the GPU and cooling options to see the physical limits. The Meshify 2 Compact has specific dimensions, so it’s worth looking at their site for complete info. Plus, if you're interested in something newer, Fractal just launched the Epoch, which has a mesh front and you can choose a solid side panel. It could be a great alternative!
That Epoch sounds interesting! But isn’t it a bit wider at 215mm? I choose the Meshify 2 Compact for its 210mm width. I'll definitely have to check that out before deciding.
