I'm currently using a 12400F paired with a 5070Ti and I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU to the 14600K since it's compatible with the LGA1700 socket. Most of my gaming is done at 1440p, so I'm wondering if this upgrade is a good idea or if there are better options available.

If you can swing the AM5 platform, I'd recommend going for that. Otherwise, the 14600K is a decent upgrade but maybe not the best option for pure gaming.
I think it would be a worthy upgrade! If you’re focused on gaming, though, I’d suggest checking out the 7800X3D. I switched from the 14600K to the 7800X3D, and noticed a real improvement in gaming. Just know that the 14600K is still a solid chip, so if you can get it at a good price, it could be worth it.
