I've recently switched to using Hyprland and absolutely love its speed and responsiveness compared to GNOME. However, as a mechatronics engineer, I'm struggling with stability issues when running essential apps like KiCad, FreeCAD, Arduino IDE, and VS Code. KiCad doesn't launch properly, FreeCAD crashes when exporting, and both versions of Arduino IDE are sluggish. While I've tried tweaking various settings and environment variables, nothing seems to fix these problems. Should I switch to a different Linux distribution that might handle these applications better, or is there a way to get them working smoothly on Hyprland? I'm seeking advice from anyone in the engineering or development space who has experience with Hyprland. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, those apps don't play nicely with Hyprland on any distro due to compatibility issues. It's not really a distro problem; it's more about how these applications interact with Hyprland. You might want to look into other desktop environments that these apps support better.
Are there any alternative desktop environments similar to Hyprland where these apps work well?
