My New HDDs Aren’t Showing Up in Disk Management, Help!

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my older PC, which has an ASUS TUF Z490-Plus motherboard and a Corsair HX-650 power supply. I had been running a Hackintosh setup with just an SSD for the OS. I replaced that SSD and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, and it's all working great now. However, when I added two brand new WD 2TB HDDs, they aren't appearing in disk management at all. I've checked all the connections multiple times, and the SATA slots are enabled in the BIOS, but only the SSD shows up. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks for the tips, everyone! So, I checked the spinning part and I'm pretty sure I have a conflict with the SATA ports. I have an M.2 for the OS installed in the bottom slot, which might be causing the issue. By the way, the drives are WD Blue 2TB each. I also tried connecting two existing 1TB HDDs after, and while they didn't show up initially, they did on another PC. Very strange!

Yeah, with that M.2 installed, you’ll want to use the appropriate SATA ports. The ones near the bottom of the board are your best bet. Make sure you aren’t using the sideways-facing ones, as those might not work!

What HDDs are you using? Can you hear them spinning up when you start your system? Also, if you have any M.2 sticks installed, make sure they aren't conflicting with the SATA ports. Sometimes, the M.2 slots can disable certain SATA ports depending on the configuration. Just a thought!

First off, check if the drives are actually spinning up when you power on your PC. You can usually tell by feel or sound. If they aren’t spinning, they might not be getting power or could be dead on arrival (DOA). That’s a crucial first step!
