Looking for Recommendations on 1TB SATA SSDs with DRAM

Hey everyone! I'm in search of a 1TB SATA SSD for my PS4 (shhh, don't tell the mods!). It's been quite a challenge finding one that has DRAM. So far, I've come across the Crucial MX500 and Samsung 860 Evo. I found the 860 Evo at a good price, but I've read a lot about failures with it, which makes me hesitate to buy it. Have those issues been sorted out in newer batches or through software updates? As for the MX500, it seems to be harder to find because some stores say it's discontinued, and I did find one, but the shop mentioned the warranty has expired. What would you recommend I go for? Also, if you have suggestions for other drives, I'm all ears! Thanks a ton in advance! ^^

The 860 EVO does have a lot of reports of failure, likely because it’s one of the most popular SATA drives out there. If you’re looking for DRAM cache specifically, remember that if it’s not clearly mentioned, it probably doesn’t have it. A few alternatives with DRAM include the Transcend SSD230S, Adata Ultimate SU800, HP S750, and Kingston KC600.

Thanks for the quick feedback! I’ve noticed that the 870 EVO, Sandisk Ultra, and HP S750 are all priced similarly. Which one do you recommend I should choose?

Used drives are a viable option too! Just make sure to plug it into a computer and run a tool like CrystalDiskInfo to check the health and update firmware if needed. I own nine MX500s, most of them used from eBay, and they’ve been running flawlessly even under regular usage in my server.

I appreciate the advice! I was checking out the used market, but it didn’t look too promising here. I might go for one even if it doesn’t have a warranty.
