I'm looking to upgrade my CPU cooler to the Scythe Mugen 6 Dual Fan Black Edition and need to know if it will fit in my Lian Li O11 Dynamic case (not the EVO model). Currently, I'm using a Ryzen 7 5800X with an Arctic Liquid Freezer II AIO, but the pump is getting noisy and my temperatures are rising. I'm eager to switch to air cooling. I know some people say it fits while others claim it doesn't, so I need clarity on a few points:
1. Does the Mugen 6 fit height-wise in the O11 Dynamic?
2. Will there be any issues using it alongside Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM?
3. I'm looking for advice on fan positioning or airflow—should I go for a setup with 3 top, 1 bottom intake and 3 side exhaust, or something different? For context, my current fan setup includes 4 intake fans (3 on the side, 1 on the bottom) and 3 exhaust fans that came with the AIO. Once I switch to the Mugen 6, I'll still have 7 case fans altogether. Thanks for any insights!

The Mugen 6 is designed to be lower profile than many other coolers of similar performance, which is great because it usually has no RAM clearance issues. The O11 Dynamic can handle larger coolers without a problem, so you should be good here. Also, while I understand the allure of the Mugen, maybe consider the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE if you're looking for something that’s better in performance and cheaper too. As for your fan setup, with air coolers, avoid having top fans exhaust air; you'll lose the cool air those side intakes provide. Consider running the top fans at low RPM or turning them off entirely. Your idea of 3 top and 1 bottom intake with 3 side exhausts sounds like it could work, but make sure to prevent air from just being sucked right out above.
I’ve heard about the clearance issues, and it seems like the O11D's actual max height isn’t 155mm, but more like 154-154.5mm, so definitely do your homework on that!
