Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind here and really need your help. I set up an AWS account using my name and PAN card, but my friend, who used his debit card for payment, is not giving me access to the root account. I have access to the root email and know the passwords, but I can't figure out how to remove my PAN card from the account. This situation is really stressing me out! Any advice?

It seems odd that you can't get in. If you created the account, you should definitely have the root password. Try logging in with that and change your payment methods. If it's locked for some reason, maybe consider deleting the account and starting fresh.
Could your friend have the MFA token? If that's the case, there's a way to reset it by following AWS's instructions using the info you have. That might be your best bet!
Just a heads up, AWS requires a valid payment method linked to an account. If you're worried about unexpected charges, check out the AWS resources for more info. It's super important to clarify your payment methods.
You should try reaching out to AWS support. Since you originally made the account, they might help you regain root access. But I'm curious, why does your friend have the root access in the first place?
