How Likely is UEFI Malware to Spread from My Phone After Installing Sketchy Software?

Hey everyone! I'm concerned about the potential for UEFI malware or worms to spread from my smartphones, especially after I recently installed some sketchy software and granted it admin permissions. Is there a chance that this malware could persist even after I completely format my system and wipe all drives? Would it be able to infect other devices on my network without my interaction?

Truly, the risk is negligible. Most phones have security measures in place that would prevent such malware from spreading.

Right, almost zero chance. If your phone is locked down properly, you should be in the clear. Just keep an eye on what software you install in the future!

It's very rare for UEFI malware to spread from phones. Typically, those kinds of threats require specific conditions to infect devices. So, unless you've done something particularly risky, the chances are minimal.

Honestly, you probably don't have to worry too much. The chances of it persisting after a full format and wipe are almost zero. Just be cautious when connecting to LAN or Wi-Fi again.
