I'm really frustrated because my Apple ID seems to have been reset for some unknown reason. After contacting Apple support, they told me there's nothing they can do about it. Now I'm facing the harsh reality of potentially losing three years' worth of photos and videos. I wanted to factory reset my phone to try and salvage something, but it turns out I can't do that without proof of purchase. This is a problem since I received the phone as a gift from my dad, who bought it used, and I can't reach the previous owner anymore. I'm open to any suggestions or help you all might have!

If you’re locked out, try the password reset process on iforgot.apple.com. If that doesn’t work, you can initiate account recovery to regain access. It might take a bit, but it’s worth a shot!
I hear you, this situation sucks. I hope you can get your photos back. Don't forget to check any cloud backups too, just in case!
It sounds like you’re locked out of your Apple ID rather than it being 'reset.' Have you tried checking if two-factor authentication (2FA) is active on your account? That could give you some options for regaining access.
Just to clarify, Apple accounts don’t get randomly reset. You might want to explain what you mean by it being 'reset.' Did you maybe just forget your password?
Honestly, I’m not sure. It just seems like I can't log in anymore.
Yeah, also make sure you didn’t share your Apple ID info with anyone else. That might complicate things.
