Hey everyone! I'm diving into PC gaming for the first time and I've come across a setup that I'm considering. Here are the specs:
- Processor: i5 12th gen (12600KF Alder Lake)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 DS3H DDR4
- RAM: 32GB total, consisting of two 8GB Corsair sticks and one 8GB Kingston stick
- Graphics Card: Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti
- SSD: 1TB
The seller is asking for $748, and I have a budget of $900. Do you think this is a good deal? Will this setup run modern and future games effectively?
Additionally, I found another option that's slightly different:
- Processor: Intel Core i7-12700
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 1600 MHz
- SSD: 1TB Samsung
- Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H610M-A D4
- Cooling: Arctic Freezer i35
What do you all think?

Honestly, this gaming PC should perform well for a couple of years. But keep in mind, the price might be a bit high for a used setup. You could potentially create a new rig with similar specs for about the same price. You should negotiate a bit before making a decision!

Right? I thought $748 seemed a bit steep too. There might be better options out there!

The specs aren't terrible for the price, but you could potentially do better. If you're in the USA, you might be able to score something with a more powerful GPU, especially if you check out sites where you can build your own setup. I’d suggest looking at some newer parts—it’ll be easier to upgrade later on than sticking with that Intel CPU.

Yeah, it's worth looking around for a better GPU within your budget! Don't rush into buying just yet.

Overall, this setup is decent for 1080p and 1440p gaming! You might want to pair it with a good monitor to really enjoy your RTX 3060 Ti. A 144Hz monitor would be awesome for 1080p gaming, while for 1440p you'll want something like a 144Hz monitor too. Just make sure the seller includes a power supply and a cooler in the deal. It looks like a solid configuration, but check if the RAM sticks are compatible for the future. If everything checks out, it’s a good deal!
