Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC and I've run into a little hiccup. My case has a USB-C wire, but my motherboard, the MSI Pro B760M-P DDR4, doesn't have a place to plug it in. Is it really necessary to connect this wire? Just trying to figure out what's essential for my build. Thanks!

If you don't plan to use the front USB-C port, it's perfectly fine to leave the cable disconnected. However, if you do find yourself needing it later, there are PCIe cards available that can add USB-C ports for your motherboard.

You don't need to connect that USB-C wire if you don’t plan on using the front panel USB-C port. It's not a crucial connection for your PC to function. You can also get an adapter to hook it up if you want to, but keep in mind it won't work at full speed with that setup.

For a solution, you could plug a USB-C device directly into the back of your PC if your motherboard has USB-C ports there. Just make sure you're not confusing the USB-C header with a USB 3.x header, as they look quite different!
