Should I Upgrade My Mac Mini’s SSD Myself or Just Go for an External SSD?

Asked By CuriousCoder92 On

I'm looking to buy a Mac Mini and came across a video showing how to upgrade the SSD myself. I'm wondering if it's worth the risk to do this on my own, or if I should just stick with an external SSD instead of buying an internal one from Taobao. The main reason I want the extra SSD is to download some games through Whiskey and play them. I'd really appreciate any advice!

I watched a video on replacing the SSD in the M4 Mac Mini, and it seems doable. Just make sure you get a reliable SSD; some can fail within weeks. In my college, we have about 50 Macs with 2TB Samsung T7 Shields. They all run video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro without issues!

So, is it good for downloads? I just want to play games! By the way, I liked your example, thanks for sharing!
