What Tools Do You Solo IT Pros Use for Support and Invoicing?

I'm running a one-man tech support shop, helping small businesses with computer fixes, tech support, and hardware setup. Right now, I'm using Screenconnect Remote (costing AUD$90 since I'm my only tech) and WaveApps for invoicing. I've been redirecting a landline to my mobile.

I really need a better system to manage everything—from ticketing to time tracking—because I often forget jobs and can't keep track of how much time I'm spending. I tried SyncroMSP, but it was slow and frustrating. I'm looking for something straightforward that helps me remote into clients' computers and manage tickets without the extra complexity of patch management or all that RMM stuff. Plus, if it's affordable, that would be great since my business is still small.

For invoicing, Invoice Ninja worked really well for me when I used it. It’s also quite user-friendly!

I've been using Wave for invoices, both recurring and one-time, and it handles credit card payments, ACH, and expense tracking pretty well. For remote access, I stick with Ninja RMM for management and cloud backup—it’s been effective for me!

I use Toggl for time tracking and created an API link between it and Xero for invoicing. Just track your time in Toggl, then hit a button to sync it to Xero weekly for invoicing. This way, I keep it simple and handle invoices directly through Xero without much hassle.

There are quite a few free remote access tools, but I rarely see ones that manage invoicing too. If you're okay with separating the tasks, you might find them useful.
