Why won’t my Ryzen 5 4600G post on a new motherboard?

I have an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G that I bought second-hand with a small HP desktop. This setup works perfectly, but when I try to install the CPU in a different motherboard (a Steel Legend B450), it fails to post. The fans and LEDs power on for a bit, but then it enters a reboot loop. I'm really at a loss here since I can't continue using the HP desktop due to limited storage options for my photo and video projects. Any advice on troubleshooting this issue?

It sounds like the issue might be related to the BIOS version on your motherboard. Sometimes newer CPUs require a specific firmware update to be recognized properly. Have you checked if your B450 motherboard's BIOS is up to date? That could be the ticket to getting it to post properly.

Another thing to consider is whether the PSU is adequate for the components you’re using, especially with a different motherboard setup. Sometimes, power delivery can cause issues if everything isn’t quite up to spec. It might be worth double-checking the power supply you’re using.
