Hey everyone! I bought a 'renewed' iPhone 15 Pro from Amazon back in April and now I'm trying to add it to AppleCare One, but I'm hitting a wall. The system shows my device is not eligible because its 'Coverage Expired' date is set back to 1978, even though the service date is listed as September 2023. I provided my purchase invoice, and a Senior Advisor attempted to update that date but couldn't do it. They advised me to contact Amazon, but it sounds like it won't get me anywhere. Has anyone else faced this issue? Did you manage to add a device with a coverage expiration stuck in 1978? I saw some discussions about how this may be a new program and things might change. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can’t add AppleCare+ to any refurbished or renewed devices unless they were sold directly by Apple. The 1978 date just signals that the device doesn’t have any Apple warranty, not even the standard one-year coverage. So that's likely why you're facing this issue.
That's correct for AppleCare+, but keep in mind that AppleCare One might have different rules. According to Apple’s FAQ, you can add devices that are in good condition and up to four years old.
