Hey everyone! I was playing Valorant one evening when my PC just shut down, and it turns out my GPU is completely dead. I'm looking to buy a new GPU that will work well with my current setup or that requires minimal upgrades. Here's my current build:
- Intel i5 11400f
- 16GB DDR3 3200MHz RAM (8GB x 2)
- Gigabyte H510m Motherboard
- My now-dead GTX 1650
- Ant Esports 500W Bronze PSU
- Zebion Vixen Rhoades cabinet
I'm considering either the RTX 3060 12GB or the RTX 4060 8GB. Will either of these GPUs bottleneck with my CPU?

When looking at the RTX 3060 12GB versus the RTX 4060 8GB, I'd probably lean towards the 3060. It has more VRAM, which is generally better for games, especially if you want to future-proof your build a bit. Just make sure your PSU can handle it!
Bottlenecks are a common topic, but honestly, it varies by game. I've used a much older CPU with a powerful GPU, and I still got decent FPS. It really comes down to how you game. For instance, if you're mostly into FPS games at 1080p, either of these cards should work well without too much of an issue. But you might not reach maximum FPS in every scenario, so just keep that in mind.
I mostly play FPS games and some AAA titles at 1080p, so that helps! Thanks for the insight!
