Is 50°C Idle Temperature Normal for My CPU?

I have an Alienware Aurora R16 with an RTX 4070 Super and an Intel Core i7-14700F. Initially, my CPU would hover around 30-40°C when idle, but lately, I've noticed it's now reaching 50°C while idle and 60-70°C when I'm playing "Anime Last Stand" on Roblox. My CPU usage is quite low at only 5-10%. Should I be concerned about these temperatures?

Those temperatures are actually quite normal as long as your fan setup is efficient. A well-optimized fan curve will keep your PC cool during idle and gaming sessions.

If your CPU temperature has increased recently, it could be due to a few factors like higher room temperature, dust buildup in your PC, or the thermal paste potentially degrading. However, 50°C isn't alarming, so you don't necessarily need to take any action right now.

It’s not a major concern at those temperatures, even if it were a laptop. If you’re really worried about it, consider using some canned air to clean out the fans and heatsinks for better airflow.

How old is your setup? Have you done any cleaning? It might be time for a CPU repaste if you’ve never cleaned it and it’s been several months.

I got it in October last year and haven’t cleaned it since. That might be the issue.
