I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU from a 7800XT and found a used MSI Gaming Slim X 4080 for 920 CHF (146 USD). It's actually 300 CHF cheaper than the new 5080 I was looking at. Do you think this is a good deal, or should I stick with my original plan?

The MSRP for a 4080 is around $1000, so this price is actually a bit high for a used card. It's only adding about 15-20fps over your 7800XT, so make sure you really want those extra frames before jumping in.

If speed is what you want, the 5080 is definitely the better choice. It offers about 20% more performance and has more CUDA cores, plus features like DLSS4. Worth considering if you want something future-proof!

If you're looking to save some cash, a 5070 Ti might be a decent alternative. It might not be as powerful, but it could still give you a solid upgrade without breaking the bank.
