Help! My Asus Laptop Won’t Reset

I recently got an Asus laptop from a friend for a great price, and I've been trying to reset it to wipe out his files. Unfortunately, every time I attempt a reset, it just fails. I've tried restarting the laptop and then resetting it, but that didn't help either. I ran an SFC scan, which didn't fix anything, and then I tried a DISM scan and a restore command, but those didn't work either. I even reversed the order and did the DISM scan first, but it stated that the registry database is corrupted. I'm stuck because the laptop won't restart. Can anyone offer some solutions?

You could try using a Windows Recovery USB to reset your laptop. If you don’t have one, you can download the media creation tool from Microsoft's site. Just follow the instructions there to create a USB drive that can help you reset your laptop.

I attempted to download it, but it stopped halfway with an error. I'm feeling pretty lost right now.
