Can I use a lower capacity SDXC card reader with a larger microSD card?

I have a 1 terabyte microSD card, and my old SDXC card reader broke. I'm considering just buying a cheaper SDXC card reader that typically comes with a smaller microSD card—maybe one that supports 64GB. Will this work for my 1TB microSD card, or are there any issues I should be aware of, like potential damage to my card?

You shouldn't have any trouble using a smaller capacity SDXC card reader with your 1TB microSD. Just make sure the reader specifically supports SDXC. Modern card readers are usually backwards compatible, so they can work with higher capacity cards like your 1TB one without any issues. Just avoid any readers that are strictly labeled for only lower capacity cards.

Thanks for clarifying! I was worried about breaking my microSD by using a cheaper reader.
