I have both an iPhone and an iPad linked to the same Apple ID, and I'm facing an annoying issue. Whenever I connect a Bluetooth speaker or headphones to my iPad, they automatically connect to my iPhone as well. This has caused some awkward moments, especially when I lend my iPad to my parents and their speaker connects to my iPhone unexpectedly. Is there any way to prevent this automatic sharing so I can enjoy my media on my iPhone without it playing through their speaker?

While Bluetooth devices can connect automatically, they usually shouldn't start playing sound on other devices unless you've switched the audio manually. One way to manage this is by unpairing the Bluetooth devices when not in use, but that can be tedious.
I see what you're saying, but my audio keeps switching rigs if I switch on my other device. It's frustrating!
