I'm using an HP Pavilion 15 with an i5 8300H, 32GB of RAM, and a GTX 1050 Ti. Whenever I play games, the laptop unexpectedly shuts off, and I have to hold the power button to reboot it. I'm starting to think it's because my power supply is 135W instead of the recommended 150W that I've read about. I don't see any BSOD or error messages that hint at other problems. I've ordered a 150W charger, but will that fix the issue, or could there be something else causing it? It's probably not overheating since I've done a thorough clean, undervolted, replaced the thermal paste, and added extra cooling.

It’s also worth checking for any dump files if you can boot into Windows. Even though you’re not getting BSODs, there might still be something logged that could help identify the issue. You can easily find them at C:WindowsMinidump. Might be a good way to get a clearer picture of what’s going on.
In addition to the power supply and keeping an eye on temps, make sure there's nothing blocking air vents. Sometimes, internal airflow can be compromised even if you cleaned it out. Look into that too!
It sounds like you're on the right track with the power supply. A weaker charger could definitely cause shutdowns under heavy load, especially while gaming. While you're waiting for the new 150W charger, keep an eye on your temperatures. If they're in the high 80s to low 90s Celsius, that might be pushing it, but it seems like you've done a lot to manage heat already. If the new charger doesn't solve it, we might need to dig deeper into other potential issues.
Exactly! My old laptop ran hot too but never shut off. Hopefully, the new charger does the trick!
