Hey everyone! I built my PC back in 2021 on a tight budget using an old monitor. Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6GHz)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560
- Motherboard: MAG A520M VECTOR M-ATX WIFI
- RAM: 32GB (2x16GB Crucial DDR4 3200MHz)
- Storage: 1TB HDD + 240GB SSD
- Power Supply: EVGA 500 W2 500W 80+
I'm planning to upgrade to a 1440p 144Hz monitor, and I'm considering a new GPU since I'm not looking to overspend. Here are a few second-hand options I've found:
- Sapphire RX 6600 8GB (~150€)
- Sapphire RX 6700 XT OC 12GB (200€)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB (200€)
- KFA2 GeForce RTX 3070 2 fan (200€)
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 8GB 3 fan (200€)
What do you think of these choices? Will they still be good in 2025 with my CPU? I'd love any advice you can give!

I upgraded from an Intel i5 10400F to a Ryzen 5 7600X. The performance with the RTX 3080 Ti was tough for my old CPU at 1440p. My kids use a 3600, and I feel it can handle the 3070 well, especially for 1080p gaming. Just keep in mind that 8GB of VRAM might be a limitation for the newer games at 1440p between 2023-2025.
Definitely go for the 6700 XT! It offers great value and is more capable than the other options you listed.
I think the RX 6700 XT would really be your best bet overall for your needs!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely think about the VRAM situation since I want to avoid having to upgrade my CPU too soon.
