Alternative Ways to Power My Lenovo Laptop and Fix a Broken Charger Port?

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a Lenovo Windows laptop that has part of a broken charger stuck in the charging port. I've tried various tools like pliers and tweezers over the years, but nothing seems to work. I got quoted a hefty $800 for repairs since they said it requires a new port. Is there any other way to power my laptop without using the charger port? Also, tips for removing the broken piece would be super helpful. Just a note: the port on the other side isn't a charging port like I initially thought—it's actually for headphones. Thanks in advance for your help!

Does your laptop have a USB-C port? Sometimes you can charge through that. Just make sure the port is actually capable of charging; some laptops have the USB-C port only for data. If it doesn't work for charging, you might need to consider other options.

Yeah, I have two USB-C ports. One has the broken piece in it, and the other is just for headphones. I tried plugging my charger into the second one, but it didn’t charge.

Have you opened up your laptop? If the charging port is integrated into the motherboard, it can be a hassle to replace and might mean swapping out the whole board or getting someone to solder it in. If it’s a modular port, it should be a quick fix though!
