Hey everyone,
I'm in a bit of a pickle at work because I forgot to bring my charger for my Samsung S21. The only charger I have access to is my laptop charger, which outputs 135 watts and has a warning stating "do not use with other devices, high wattage." I'm heading to a hospital afterward and really need my phone charged for the evening. Is it safe to use this charger with my phone?

If the charger is well-made and meets the right USB-C specifications, your phone should negotiate the correct voltage and amps, making it safe to use. That's the whole point of using a unified connector!
The warning is concerning! It might be one of those chargers that has a fixed voltage, which could damage your phone. If you can, share a picture of the specs label so we can check it out.
Honestly, you should be good. USB-C technology allows for smart negotiation of power. However, if you're unsure, maybe try charging through a laptop port instead for safety.
I've used high-wattage chargers before, and as long as it communicates properly, you shouldn't have a problem. Generally, the device controls how much power it draws, so safe charging is likely.
That's true, just remember that not all chargers are created equal. Keep an eye out for any unusual behaviors from your phone!
If it's a reputable brand charger, you should be fine. Quality chargers adjust output and communicate with the device. I regularly use high-watt chargers for my devices without issues.
But I'm a little wary because that warning you mentioned could indicate it might not be compliant, which could lead to issues giving a constant voltage.
