How Can I Ensure My PC Parts Are Compatible with My Motherboard?

I'm putting together a PC build list on pcpartpicker, and I want to make sure the components I selected will work well together. I'm considering the MSI Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI motherboard and the following parts:

- Intel Core i7-13700KF 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Cooler (I'm wondering if I should switch to a liquid cooler)
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 Memory
- Samsung 990 Pro 4 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD

I'm a bit confused about the specifications. The motherboard has 3 PCIe x16 slots and 1 PCIe x1 slot. It also mentions 4 M.2 slots. The SSD I'm looking at states it uses "M.2 PCIe 4.0 X4" while the motherboard is PCIe 5.0. My main concerns are:
- Will my graphics card fit in one of the x16 slots?
- Can the SSD use one of the x16 slots, and why is it called M.2 if they seem to be different?
- Do these components make sense together? I'm not looking to build a super high-end rig, just something better than my current PC since I'm tired of dealing with my old AMD setup. Any suggestions for a suitable graphics card or alternatives would be super helpful!

I’d skip the Intel Core i7-13700KF if I were you. There have been reports of issues with it, like high crash rates even after fixes. Instead, consider looking for a different CPU in a similar price range that has better reliability. Also, please share a link to your full parts list so others can help suggest better options. For your usage, that SSD might be overkill, so stick with something more budget-friendly for now!
