Is the Ryzen 9 5950X Still a Good Choice?

I've been picking out parts for my build and went back and forth between AM4 and AM5, finally settling on AM4. Now I'm considering my options for a CPU: the Ryzen 5 7600X3D, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X. I'm particularly interested in which one performs best for BeamNG Drive. I'm also planning to pair it with a 9060 XT GPU. What do you all think?

For gaming, the 7600X3D wins hands down. The 5950X has more cores, but it doesn't really make sense for gaming since a Ryzen 7600 can outperform it and still leave room for upgrades later. Plus, it's cheaper!

I heard BeamNG benefits from more cores, though. Is that not the case? It's confusing!

The 5950X is still a solid CPU, but it really depends on what you're planning to do with it. If you're gaming or doing video editing, the 7600X3D might serve you better since it has more cache and better single-core performance, while the 5950X shines in multi-core tasks. Honestly, unless you're on a super tight budget, starting with AM5 seems smarter these days. Are you just gaming or doing other things too?

I'm mostly gaming, so I think I'll follow the advice and go with the Ryzen 5 7600X3D.

Out of those options, the 7600X3D is definitely the top performer. It's designed for gaming and will give you the best experience in BeamNG Drive.

I thought they were focusing on AM4, though? Oh well!
