Should I Upgrade My GPU for 1440p Gaming Now or Wait? And What About My CPU Cooler?

I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and RAM from DDR4 to DDR5, and I'm really excited to play Battlefield 6. I'm wondering if I should upgrade my GPU right now to something like the 5070 Ti or 5080 to run games smoothly at 1440p. My current setup is decent, but I'm not sure if my existing GPU can handle the newer titles like Oblivion remaster or Cyberpunk effectively. Also, since I've boosted my CPU power, do I need to upgrade my CPU cooler as well? Currently, my temperatures are around 66C while playing Oblivion remaster. There's no budget concern because I'll save up if I need to, so I'm looking for solid advice!

I think since you've got a nice setup, aiming for a 5080 makes sense if it's within your budget. You'll be ready for whatever comes out this year! As for the cooler, the NH-D15 is awesome and you probably don’t need to worry about it unless you're pushing extreme settings. Maybe save that upgrade cash for more storage instead?

I understand the hesitation. The recommended GPU for Battlefield 6 is the 3060 Ti at high settings, so your 3070 Ti should be decent, but future-proofing is key. Also, holding off for the 5070 Ti could be wise. Just keep in mind, for 1440p gaming, more than 8GB of VRAM is becoming a must these days.

True! Yeah, 8GB might limit your experience with newer games. Best to aim for more VRAM.

Honestly, I’d either grab the 5070 Ti now or wait for refresh models. The 5070 series beats the 3080, and VRAM is crucial. Plus, consider that your cooler is likely fine; you’re not gonna see much difference with a slight upgrade at this point.

Your current GPU should be okay for high/medium settings in most games, but it could struggle with newer titles at 1440p. The GTX 3070 Ti has only 8GB of VRAM, which isn't ideal anymore. If you can go for the 5070 Ti, I'd recommend it—it'll give you better performance for upcoming games. About your cooler, the NH-D15 is still a great choice, but you can find some mounting hardware upgrades that might reduce your temps a bit.

Yeah, my 3070 is still performing well too! Just keep the settings reasonable, and you should be fine.
