Can I Access Locked Notes from My iTunes Backup?

I have an iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 17.4 and I've run into a bit of a problem. I created an iTunes backup, but shortly after, I accidentally deleted all my notes data from iCloud. Among those notes, there are some that were super important to me, but one of them is locked. I do remember the password, but I'm having trouble accessing it. I've tried several tools like FonePaw, Dr.Fone, iExplorer, iMazing, and Reincubate iPhone Backup Extractor, but none have been able to help me view the locked note. Although FonePaw detects the locked notes, it continually rejects my password as incorrect, despite my certainty it's right. I can't afford to pay for software, so I'm hoping for some free suggestions to recover my notes. I've even encountered an error stating "ArgumentException: iteration count must be at least 1. x1" from one app. I've heard this might relate to Face ID locking, but I'm using a custom text-based password. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the 'Recently Deleted' folder in your Notes app? Sometimes notes hang around there for a little while before getting permanently deleted. If they aren't there, it sounds like you might be out of luck, but you may want to look into professional recovery services that can sometimes access deleted files from backups.

No, I did a complete deletion from iCloud to clear up space. I assumed my notes were safe on my device but I messed up and deleted the backup too.

It seems like those locked notes might be a tough nut to crack. Since you've already tried a bunch of recovery tools without luck, I'd recommend checking online forums or communities where users share alternative methods that might not be widely advertised. Just make sure you go for reputable sources to avoid scams.

Good idea! I've seen some threads with suggestions about specific tools that worked for others. I’ll dig deeper and see what I can find.
