Why Does My PC Keep Restarting While Gaming?

Hey everyone,

I need some help. My PC has started randomly restarting while I'm playing games, and it's getting really frustrating. I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 for a couple of days without issues, but today I left it on the pause menu for about 2-3 hours. When I came back to continue, the game just restarted my PC—then it happened a couple more times. I tried playing the first RDR and got the same restart issue, but Minecraft ran fine without any problems.

I'm not super knowledgeable about PC building; I learned mostly from videos and articles, but I thought it might be overheating. The temperatures seem fine, so now I'm wondering if it could be a faulty power supply (PSU). This PSU has given me trouble in the past because it was really dusty, but I cleaned it up and it's been okay since then. Anyone experienced something similar or have any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

Yeah, I agree that the PSU is likely the culprit here. I've had similar issues before, and it often comes down to a failing power supply. If it's been dusty before, that could impair performance too. Just giving it a good clean sometimes helps, but if it keeps happening, it might be worth looking into a replacement.

It sounds like your power supply might be the issue. If you know the model of your PSU, that could help figure things out. Hard resets like this usually point toward power problems! What PSU are you using?
