Help! My Phone Might Be Stuck in an ecoATM

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind. I lost my phone six days ago at a Walmart in North Fort Myers, FL, while visiting with my mom. I live about six hours away from there, and I've done all the usual things like deactivating my SIM and marking my phone as lost through Google's 'Find My Device.' It's supposed to show a message with a phone number for anyone who finds it, which is my mom's number.

So far, my phone still shows up at Walmart. But my mom checked at the customer service desk and it's not there, so I'm thinking it's probably in the ecoATM at the store. I've tried emailing ecoATM twice with no luck, and since I can't call or text anyone, I can't reach the police either.

My mom isn't eager to deal with this anymore and doesn't want to involve the police, but I really need to get my phone back since all my important stuff is on it. Any suggestions on what I should do?

It's rough not being able to directly contact someone. I totally understand your frustration. Have you tried getting in touch with a friend or coworker who can lend you a phone? They could help you call the police or ecoATM. It's crucial to act fast before your phone gets picked up permanently by them. Plus, if you can retrieve your phone, they might have it on camera as they take in devices!

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to see if I can borrow a phone from someone. If I find my phone, I'll be sure to check if they recorded anything! Hopefully, it’s just lying around and someone will see the message on the screen.

Have you thought about asking someone around you to let you use their phone to call the police? It's important to get in touch with them, even just to file a report. ecoATM usually cooperates with law enforcement, so they can help with tracking down your phone. You might want to visit the police station personally too—just to have a paper trail that your phone is lost. If you can borrow a friend's phone, you can call ecoATM directly at 858-255-4111 for help! Just remember, stores can be big, so it could possibly be somewhere else than you think.

That's a great idea! I'd definitely get the report filed to be on the safe side. Also, you mentioned your phone was in the cart while shopping; maybe consider if it could have slipped out somewhere else in the store. It's been a while, but it's worth checking again!
