I'm curious if using an i5-12th gen CPU is sufficient for setting up a lab environment for DevOps and sysadmin tasks. Do you think I need something more powerful? Also, what's the best way to install everything? Should I run it on Windows using VirtualBox, or should I go all in with Proxmox and boot directly from it?

Based on my experience, Proxmox is a fantastic choice! It lets you create multiple VMs or containers for different tools and applications, like Jenkins or Kubernetes. When you’re done with a project, you can easily delete that VM and spin up a new one. Proxmox not only helps with DevOps tasks but teaches you about things like virtualization and networking too!
Is Proxmox an operating system?
