I've had this laptop for about 5-6 years, and it gets really hot when I game. The peak temperature reaches around 100°C. Should I be concerned about this? Would changing the thermal paste or doing something else help?

It's pretty high! You should try changing the thermal paste or using a cooling pad. I got one for my old laptop, and it made a huge difference in keeping the temps down.

Yeah, that's way too hot! You definitely need to repaste or repad your setup and make sure the fans are working properly. If it's boiling hot, it can seriously damage your components.

Maybe if you wanted to put a kettle on it? Boil up some tea?

The simplest solution is to clean out the fan intakes and make sure your laptop is sitting on a cool surface. For a deeper fix, consider taking it apart to clean inside and replace the thermal paste.

Definitely clean the dust from inside your laptop and replace the thermal paste. Laptops can run hot, but anything over 90°C is risky. Keeping it clean should help a lot.
