At my workplace, we have a bunch of settings that keep our Windows desktops powered, even when they're supposed to be locked after 15 minutes. The funny thing is, I think I've seen the desktop itself flash on some screens while the computers are locked! I've noticed this while chatting in the office—sometimes, about every 15 minutes, the password field appears briefly before disappearing. I even got it correct once when I guessed the user's open application just from the short glimpse. Is it even possible that this happens? If so, what could be causing it? Is it a GPO issue or some third-party tool? Have any of you experienced this?

Sounds like a quirk from a recent Windows update. I had a situation where my desktop flashed back up while the system was locked, and then it went back to the lock screen. I checked with IT, and it seems a few others have reported it too. Definitely feels like a Windows bug.
I've experienced something similar when logging into Remote Desktop sessions. For a split second, you'll see the last desktop before it locks, which is kind of eerie. Maybe it's a similar glitch happening here.
