I'm trying to decide between the Ryzen 3 3100 and the Ryzen 3 4100 for my setup with a GTX 1050 Ti. Any insights on which one would perform better?

Totally agree, the 3100 is a solid pick. If you can stretch your budget a little, consider looking into the Ryzen 5 3600 or even the 4500; they might not cost that much more depending on where you are!
I’m not sure if the 4500 is supported on my current motherboard, it's an MSI A320M-A Pro with an Athlon X4 950 right now.
