I'm curious if an AM5 CPU holder is compatible with the stock cooler that comes with the CPU. I understand that it might not serve a functional purpose, but I think it looks nice and is affordable. What are your thoughts?

The backplate on the AM5 motherboard isn't removable, so the stock cooler that comes with the CPU will definitely work. Just keep in mind that you can't use an old CPU's cooler with the new one.
Instead of spending $15 on something you might not need, consider putting that money towards a decent cooler. It'll be a better investment in the long run!
Even the Assassin X cooler is only $17, so it might be worth it!
Are you talking about a contact frame? Those don't really do much for AM5 since the socket doesn't bend like LGA1700 does. You'd be better off investing that $10-20 into a cooler that actually improves performance.
I don't get why everyone exaggerates the price. A contact frame is only $5! Right now, I'm just using an 8600G and I'll upgrade later.
I just wanted to know if the mounting plate affects the compatibility, but I'll be using the stock cooler.
