I'm considering an ASRock motherboard for my AM5 build since their B850 model is the most affordable option that meets my needs. However, I've come across some reports of issues with ASRock's AM5 boards in the past. Should I spend a bit more on a different brand to avoid potential problems, or have ASRock's issues been resolved?

Honestly, I'd steer clear of ASRock. I've seen quite a few stories of 9800X3Ds failing over on another forum. It's pretty concerning, so I'd think twice before going that route.
If you're looking for solid engineering, consider going with a Chinese brand and skip the American ones. They're often a gamble, much like flying with Boeing.
From what I've gathered, most of the issues with ASRock motherboards seem to have been addressed. That said, I personally prefer Gigabyte or MSI boards since I’ve had solid experiences with them. If it works, why change it, right?
Totally agree! I updated my ASRock board to version 3.x, and it runs like a champ now. I had an MSI that died really quick with the 9800x3d, but switched to ASRock after a friend recommended it. Just keep in mind, the 7000 series boards are fine, but the 9000 series can be sketchy.
ASRock is decent for the 7000 series, but I wouldn't trust it with the 9000 series. My advice is to stick with more reliable brands instead.
Which Chinese brands do you recommend?
